Aggregates used in Exposed Aggregate Concrete are natural products and can vary in colour, shape and size. These variations can also change the shade of the concrete matrix.

Any sample of aggregates or finished product shown to you are only indicative and illustrative of the type of finish to be achieved and no guarantee is given that the finished product will conform to these samples.

To achieve high quality results it is imperative that only use experienced concrete contractors who are aware of the processes required when placing and finishing exposed aggregate concrete. Pre Mix can assist you with recommended concreters, from which you can choose .

The method of exposing the aggregate of fresh concrete can generate wash of water that contains cement and other particulate matter. All wash water must be contained on site and disposed of in an environmentally responsible manner. Never allow wash water to enter any drainage system or natural waterway.

Pre Mix recommends, after exposing the aggregate, a light acid wash and saw cutting of concrete as soon as practically possible. A minimum of two coats of a suitable sealer be applied to reduce the risk of any staining occurring on the concrete surface. For your Exposed Aggregate to continually look great a high pressure water wash is recommended from time to time and resealing be carried out periodically.

Pre Mix endeavours to provide the highest quality of product and service available. At the time of ordering we request that as much information that relates to your project is given to our staff e.g. whether concrete is being pumped or not, time between loads, set times of concrete, means of placement and type of surface retarder being used.

By using the combination of experienced concrete contractors and Mentone Pre Mix, will ensure your project will exceed all of your expectations!
